DONT FORGET TO ENTER IN MY GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!!

Hey beauty babes!

My little sister had a cheerleading pep rally the other day and as I was doing my makeup and getting ready for it, I decided to snap a few photos for you! I did a smokey look and I wanted to give you some in depth information regarding the "smokey eye."

Do you know what a "smokey eye" is?

For a long time I thought it just consisted of dark colors blended together to create a smokey effect. AND to a certain extent, I am right! Although, there are few other steps that solidify the smokey eye, that I never considered. As a Makeup Artist and living in New Jersey, my clients usually want this look. It's the most requested look I've ever had to create. I dont blame anyone for wanting to have it, it's a fabulous look that really accentuates the eyes and gives them a sassy seductive look! Yes, please!

But, getting alittle more technical with the smokey eye look is where I want to take us today, because I want my readers to know just as much as me, so any info I can give you to be up to date, I will!

The smokey eye can be done with any color, not just dark colors! Whatever colors you decide to put together, make sure you place them in the correct areas and blend them all together! Blend blend blend! There's nothing more unnatural looking then eyeshadow swiped across your eyes without looking blended together. You'll end up looking like Mimi from The Drew Carey Show! NOT a good look!

Now the piece to the puzzle I never considered to be the "Smokey" in the Smokey Eye, is a drop shadow.

What's a drop shadow, LC?

A Drop Shadow is what you create when you place liner or eyeshadow on your lower lash line below your water line and smudge.

  • You can use a small blending brush to apply the eyeshadow, just remember to tap and smudge! Or by using eyeliner you can swipe it across the eye but use a blending brush to blend the eyeshadow to create a smoke effect. Just by placing a solid line of eyeliner in that area can make it look too harsh. Remember, we're going smokey not chunky!

Here are a few pics I took for you so you can get the idea!
